Heather Sayeau

Heather Sayeau, Bachelor of Fine Arts graduate from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, teaches two painting classes at the college. Heather finds the students a great source of inspiration for her own work as the rest of her time is spent painting and developing her craft.
Heather is celebrating Trinity Galleries’ 10th Spring Flower Extravaganza Show as our feature artist. Over the years, Heather has provided us with her close-up investigations of hydrangeas, roses and peonies. This year she is treating us with beautiful bouquets, apple blossoms and scenes of Victorian Gardens! Heather is an avid gardener, maintaining a gorgeous large garden at her Halifax home. As you can see, her love of gardening comes out in her paintings….
The painting process itself is a passion of Heathers’, allowing her to dabble in variations of subject matter. You may remember her breath- taking scenes of the Kennebecasis River as well as the St. John River.Heather often travels to Europe and throughout North America to find inspiration resulting in rich oil landscapes with rolling hills, old roads and European trees. When reviewing Heathers’ work, Matt Pearn from Here Newspaper said, “Allowing an Old World atmosphere to permeate her work, Sayeau draws from her time in France, recreating European Icons with innovative flare.”
Even though virtually all subject matter is worthy of consideration for Heather, she explores the possibilities of oils and rich colour with her flower works. Trinity Galleries is pleased to feature Heather’s freshest pieces for the month of April.
