Marvin Moore
After receiving a cum laude bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from Albion College, Michigan, Marvin moved to New York City where he apprenticed to several leading photographers including Ralph Gibson, Elliott Erwitt, Bruce Davison and Walter Ioss.In 1984 he opened a studio on Fifth Avenue specializing in corporate location photography.Marvin moved his studio to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1987 setting up in the historic Green Lantern Building.In 2003, Hurricane Juan struck the Green Lantern Building and Marvin relocated his studio to Jubliee Road.
Moore has exhibited in the U.S. and Canada most notably at the International Center of Photography in New York.The Howard Greenberg Gallery in New York has represented him and he has had work purchased by the Nova Scotia Art Bank.His commercial work has appeared in many publications including Esquire Magazine and Saturday Night Magazine.
Past president of the Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communication (CAPIC) Atlantic, Marvin lives in Halifax with his wife, Mindy and two sons.
