Carol Everett
Carol Everett graduated from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design with a Bachelor of Fine Art.
Everett draws her inspiration from her surroundings, choosing to depict moments that could easily been experienced by any of us; landscapes, portraits and still lives all take their place in this exhibition. Each painting shows the artist’s sensitivity to the nature of light and colour, further lending to her relationship with the subject matter.
Everett currently lives and works in Fredericton, New Brunswick.
Artist Statement
The Light and Shadow - what that means to me, is in those moments of being aware of the light, many things become clear and in focus, whether it is beauty or inner peace or a sense of the larger meanings of life that give me a feeling of magic and awe.
The shadow, always present, gives depth to life/light and keeps things in perspective, in balance.
My hope is to convey those fleeting moments and preserve them, much the way a memoirist would.
