Alex Colville
Alex Colville is internationally recognized as one of Canada's best realist artists. Graduating from Mount Allison University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1942, he then enlisted in the Canadian Army and spent the next few years of his life working overseas as a war artist. On his return, he began teaching at Mount Allison University. Colville has had numerous exhibitions including Toronto, New York, Beijing and Tokyo. Alex Colville has received numerous honorary LLD's from various distinguished Universities as well as medals, appointments and commissions. Alex has lived in Nova Scotia since 1929 where he continues to live and work with his wife of fifty years, Rhoda, in their family home.
